Dr. Jenny Karlsson is a neuroscientist and the Principal Investigator on Maas Biolab's cyclosporin ALS research funded by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), a section of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Her scientific career is dedicated to investigating neurodegeneration and neuronal rescue in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson's disease and Gulf War Illness. Dr. Karlsson received her Ph.D. at the Section for Neuronal Survival, Wallenberg Neuroscience Centre, Lund University, Sweden. She performed post-doctoral research in ALS cyclosporin neuroprotection at the Pacific Biomedical Research Center, University of Hawaii. Dr. Karlsson has, as assistant research professor, recently completed a series of manganese and uranium inhalation toxicology studies at College of Pharmacy, University of New Mexico before joining Maas Biolab.
